sounds more like religion is what you really fear,or at least what it teaches

I dont fear religion. I fear death and what may happen to me.
Honestly...I fear life as well. I guess I just fear everything. Religion comforts me in some way.

but religion teaches you to fear those things...religion made up hell and purgatory and satan and all that
what religion are you?

It depends on how you look at it. I am a Christian, my brother is too. He feels that there is no devil, or hell through research. He feels that when you die it becomes once again like things were befor you were born. Do you remember anything befor you were born? Nothing. Your soul moves on, but you dont know it.
The Catholic church is who really pushes the "hell" issue. I am not Catholic.
I am aChristian by my own choice, and I dont force religion on anyone.
I take things differently. Religion to me, trys to prevent you from falling, and life throws temptation at you so you do fall. where I differ from my brother, I do believe there is a place where you can end up if you were bad. I mean, I really wouldnt want to be with Hitler. lol
I guess I just fear the unknown. Thats something you learn in life without religion.

Quite an expressive piece, I like the intense stare you've painted on yourself. The symbolic parts look great and the atmosphere is very strong. The fairly limited color palette works well too.

You know, I used too. But its a look I have become so familiar with, that it wasnt that hard to capture.
Thanks

What did you use to paint this? any mediums?
The concept to me reads so far as "bible guy wants to practice religion but can't and the demons represent his shortcomings." I don't know what the title means, so I suppose I'm at a disadvantage.
I would like to critique you but i don't know enough about the piece....

It means "I will keep faith". Its actually a self portrait and your pretty much correct in what your saying. You cant see it in this print but there is a significance with the date 2012 on a piece of paper behind me

2012 always makes me a nervous wreck too, i try to push it at the back of my mind but every now and again it bubbles up and i have a rough nights sleep.
i can relate with this piece so much becuase even now im afraid of every little thing, when i go out i wonder if im going to get struck from falling debris from a building or hit by a car or if im going over a bridge will it collapse etc etc
but opposite to you, i dont really use faith or religion as something to keep me sane but rather choose to be agnostic. i think if i can help myself believe that theres no after life then theres no worry that ill end up in hell.
its a rough life to live in fear and its so refreshing to see other ppl are the same way
