Beautiful work. Which legends? I know nothing about Polish folklore, just curious.

The Nymph's name originated from the name of one of Polish lakes (ΕwiteΕΊ)
She most likely originated from folk tales and legends that were never written down, however the most well-known story about her is told in a poem written by Adam Mickiewicz (a Polish author from romanticism)
I actually managed to find an English translation of a poem if you're interested

Shit, a scary reflection, as if it might reach out & grab her.

Are these the ones that live just beneath the surface of lakes? You know, the ones that snatch men and others when they come to look at their reflections? If so, it's also a Russian legend. My parents used to tell me all kinds of Slavic legends.

Damn, this looks so intense, great painting, love the colors and the surreal and dark feel to it, so well done! I love it! <3
