So I was watching a bit of 2001: A Space Odyssey last night between the fights of coughing and sneezing (I was sick), and I must say it had been a while since I had last seen that movie. I do love sci-fi, and man, I appreciate the nuances in the film, ESPECIALLY the lack of sound in space. The shock and fear I found myself feeling when the other astronaut was killed by HAL was more acute with the dead silence.

More than that, however, I LOVED the acting from the character Bowman. The shots they used with his intense eyes, and this quite famous scene where he finally realizes everything HAL has done to him and his crew... the way you could see the fear and anger behind the eyes yet he is trying to keep calm. It says a lot to the editing to give that much expression tot he actor when they are just staring into the camera.

Anyhu. I fel the need to practice painting. I suppose this is a speed paint? I don't know what amount of time constitutes a speed paint anymore, but I always defined it as doing it in one sitting.
