I haven't painted more complex backgrounds traditionally for a very long time. This painting was a refreshing change from the digital medium and also a very good practise. The Highlands are by far one of the most inspiring places on earth for me and I will soon be able to see them in real again.
The painting is 14" x 20"
Watercolours on hot pressed sturdy paper.

It reminds me slightly of Redwall. Perhaps it's the anthropomorphic wolf... but this definitely reminds me of redwall.

The music and the scenery are very epic in my opinion.

The image resembles classical romanticism in some aspects. There is this rift between foreground and background, dark and light, home and outside. Kind of reminds at Caspar David Friedrich. - Besides that, it is skilled and I enjoy it

I like how you painted the lighter areas of the background along the edges of the foreground, so's to make them stand out from each other.
