actually i kinda winged it i had just spent my first trip in new york, but theres no shame in using photo reference for background detail in fact i would recommend it

but you could just copied from a photo, actually it looks to me that you did so.
I´m not complaining, I would do the same,using referals are great and help to meet deadlines.

this is bullshit I studied for 3 yrs on perspective and architecture and not even I could do something this good. He who questions your ability to draw bg should be smited by hand of god or whoever lol.
