Tรครค on hieno I like the composition and the lighting in particular. I love how you've paid attention to the light coming from the room and the rim lighting cast by the moon. I can't really figure out the medium used to color this? Is this acrylic washes or watercolor?

Kiitos! This is one of my personal favourites as well. It's mostly done with acrylics. It has multiple thin layers of paint. I started with washes and then used less water and more paint on the next layers. On the night sky I used a little bit of airbrush to soften it and add some glow. I finished with coloured pencils to bring out details and add texture.

Thank you for the detailed answer. That's really interesting. I have a test set of Amsterdam acrylics in my closet but have never really tried them out properly since I have absolutely 0% experience with acrylics. I should try them out some time when I want more opaque results. I've been eyeballing some gouache but they always seem to have light fastness issues. Besides you can buy Amsterdam acrylics here in Finland so that's a big plus. It's a bit of a pain to order everything from abroad.

No problem. Do try them out if you have some laying around and see if you like them. It takes some practice but you can get pretty good results with them. I found that using them in thin layers works best for me. I haven't tried Amsterdam paints so I can't say anything about them. The thickness of the paints matters as well. I found Liquitex soft body paints to be the best for my technique because of their softness but those I had to order abroad.

Definitely one of your best! Liking the character, the scene and contrast in the light! Great job!

Reminds me of Bruce Campbell's Autolycus from the sold Hercules and Xena TV series.

I admit Autolycus was an inspiration. Such a great character and actor. I like those shows very much.

He and Douglas Fairbanks ought to get together some time, shoot a movie or two.

Holy cow, you're right! The similarity is actually completely unintentional.
