Cure Moonlight (Yuri Tsukikage) a beautiful, calm, intelligent, strong, serious, badass, powerful, sometimes cold, mature, responsable, quiet yet solitary girl who prefers to work alone rather than being part of a team of superheroines. In the beginning of the series, Tsubomi has a dream about her, as Cure Moonlight, fighting to protect one of the magic trees, bravely against Dark Pretty Cure, but, in the battle, her companion Cologne was killed when he was trying to protect her, being defeated by the enemies and losing her ability to transform and her will to fight against her enemies, turning her into a cold and serious person. Later, in the series, she sensed the presence of Dark Pretty Cure, but also the spirit of Coffret, who encourages her to fight once more with the help of the rest of the girls, and thanks to the seeds of the tree, she regain her ability to transform and fight against the Desertrians, Dark Pretty Cure and Doctor Saabaku (who is really her father) she teams up with Tsubomi, Erika and Itsuki in order to defeat the bad guys, finally avenging the death of Cologne defeating Dark Pretty Cure but losing her father in the process but finding a long gone peace within her thanks to her friends. She is the most experienced of the Pretty Cures and serves as a teacher and guide alongside Tsubomi’s grandmother to help her youngest teammates and helping them fighting against evil, learning to be in a team thanks to Tsubomi, Erika and Itsuki’s support. She lives with her mother until we learn that Professor Sabaku is her father and her “sister” is Dark Pretty Cure.
Personally, Yuri is my favorite Purple Pretty Cure, I love how her character develops in the series and her background story is very interesting, but also sad how she had to endure a lot of pain in the process almost losing all of her family and how she has to remain strong, but never giving into hate thanks to the help of her beloved friends. Yuri is an awesome and interesting heroine (her story makes me cry and feel sorry for her) but I admire her for remaining strong and badass. Yuri, my top favorite Purple Pretty Cure.
