Good riddance. Villains are fun but Naomi is over the top. Happy to see the back of her

You are right. You are seeing the end of Naomi. This is her swan song.

My pleasure. I aim to entertain and hope to keep doing so. And by the way, I seriously do appreciate your thoughtful comments. After putting in hour after hour of work into those stories, reading those comments and replying to them is meaningful.

You are right. Fighters who suffer a defeat, and a big one at that, can draw attention as the fighter people can beat. If Akane wants to continue, her promoter will have to be extra cautious with matchmaking. There may be many fighters and promoters who want to add a credible name to their collection, but that's not in her interest.

Wow, that was a huge wash-up. But let me comment on THIS picture first.

Both ladies in black (makes me remember a song... ), with Naomi wearing a modern classic, and Takara wearing a traditional classic.

They look good in their attires, whether or not you chose these exactly as they are worn by the ladies - Takara goes with the traditional

attire which also reflects her point of view. Continuing to work with Naomi will be a stain on her collar, or as she expressed it "made her a

hitman". Reputation and honor is EVERYTHING in Japan, and a fighter who wants to climb the ladder and stay in the business can't afford

to either lose reputation or face or honor.

Nice counter on Takara's side when Naomi threatens the fighter to keep her out of the ring with the help of the association. Joining the German

camp? What a bitch slap right in Naomi's face! What Takara really said however is, "If I leave I will be with Akane, and YOU WON'T!"

BAM! Right. In. Her. Face!

I guess this is all we'll ever hear of Naomi again...

It's time that Heidi grows a heart. She's a tough business woman, and she knows her game, no doubt. But Regina is right, they can't just take

a fighter out of her homeland, and then drop her when problems arise. Seen from the business perspective it may be right, but socially it's

totally unacceptable. Luckily Regina verbally knocked some sense into Heidi. Giving Akane a chance is the least they can do for her.

So, the little hotshot got in Naomi's face? That was quite a killer look in her eyes! Too bad though, I would have loved to hear what Naomi had

to say when she started with "I...".

What Sophie said however was nothing but the truth. Maybe Takara heard her yelling, and grasped the term "pawn" (if she didn't think of it

herself that is). There are people like Naomi who are all bitter and act like dicks. I'd like to know what really made her do all this. Was it only

Akane leaving her behind? Was there more? We will never know.

I had a long look at the Naomi/Sophie picture. While Sophie's face shows all the intensity I had the feeling Naomi smiles? Did she dare smile

at Sophie when the blonde was about to explode? In my weird mind I imagined, what would have happened if Naomi really smiled, and then

bent forward to kiss that face in front of her that is so close to hers? Hehe, never mind...

All in all this story was a roller coaster. Without a happy end. With drama and a life in pieces. No princesses here, just the cruel reality of bad

deals being made, and the consequences of devastating loss. Loss in many ways.

Well, as much as I love Akane - you know I do - she lost this fight because she got baited and didn't pay attention. That happens. But she

shouldn't break. It's not her first defeat, and she's got three times more victories than defeats in her record. So head up, learn from the loss,

go to work, improve, and come back stronger. I hope this is not the end of this wonderful character.

I never choose an outfit without a reason. Clothing is a way to express ourselves!

Indeed, Takara is choosing an uncertain path because she feels that further association with Naomi is bad for her reputation. It's a big deal, so she takes the leap. What will it lead to? We don't know, but she doesn't want to be seen as a hitman and has stated it clearly. That she threatens to join the German camp is a very good way to let Naomi know what she thinks of her antics. All rubbish, to put it mildly.

Sophie's intervention may have prevented Naomi from saying something interesting, but once again the coach got what she deserved and she wasn't going to get the chance to go anywhere close to Akane after destroying her. It's probably better for her health that she didn't try to give a sarcastic kiss to the intense face that was in front of her. A guaranteed hospital trip would have been in the cards because Picasso knows how to punch you silly.

Heidi does face a bit of a human challenge there. She thought business before thinking of the person and she was reminded that you cannot do business without a conscience if you want to keep this particular group of people working with you. Probably a lesson learned for her, and it did allow me to show the tensions that can arise in a generally functional camp.

The lack of a happy end was necessary in my view. We can't only tell the tales of the Good winning against the Bad. Whether Akane will recover from this will partly depend on people's demand. I could try to put it in many ways, but the most honest way is: I have often felt like Akane has been less loved by the audience than other characters I have been using. I'd be very happy to be proven wrong, though, by those who say that they want to see her in the ring again.

So do I.  I held off on commenting lately because of just how BURNING MAD the ending of the fight went.  said all I needed to say on this.  This SHOULD NOT be the end of Akane, NOT AT ALL after all the literal HELL she's gone through here.  She is very likely now somebody without a homeland unless the cooler heads in the Japanese government now intervene and put a COMPLETE STOP to this madness of revoking her citizenship all over losing a boxing match, and that putting an end to her boxing career, you're figuratively throwing her in the trash as a character it feels like to me.

Believe me, I love the character. I love telling her story.

However, I must honestly tell you that I have felt many times in the past like Akane got little support and feedback, starting with the Akane-Vera fight. When people hold off commenting, it doesn't help. Feedback is insanely important for someone who does what I do, while silence leaves me in a mental state of blankness.

I am VERY happy to hear people coming out now and asking for more Akane, because it only makes sense to keep characters going if you know that they have fans.

Not everything is a popularity contest, but when you work a full hour for each picture you make (ask any 3D creator) there definitely are moments when you wonder which characters should be the priority.

Feedback is the name of the game when you are in a publishing adventure that doesn't pay. I can only encourage people to provide it

You know, I was sort of hoping that there was a happy ending somewhere in there for Akane.  That there would be a deus ex machina that gave Akane *something* back.  But there wasn't.  And that's realistic, and grounded, but dangit I want my pound of flesh from the villains!

So Sophie putting Naomi down was pretty satisfying.  I was kind of hoping that Naomi would trip and fall down while exiting the ring, or she'd slip on a banana peel on the way back to the dressing room.  Just a moment of humiliation in public for Naomi to put her down as much as she's put Akane down.

Takara dumping Naomi is a satisfying moment and a good decision.  Naomi is cunning and a good coach, but it's clear that she doesn't really care for Takara (or anyone) seemingly.  A nice wakeup moment for Takara, who realizes that reputation matters.  In the end, it kind of looks like Takara used Naomi.  She got to the top and then said 'see ya!'

Also Hedi needs to learn a bit of tact.  She might be right (and I fear she is) but there's a time and place for saying such things.  That was not the moment.  Overall, Hedi's business first approach is logical, but it lacks compassion.  Overall, she does do the right thing, but I wonder if this is teasing a bit of tension between Heidi and the star coach.

So is Akane done?  Fighters do come back from crushing defeats, but its not exactly easy.  Many times that big defeat is the last defeat a fighter takes.  Akane is a good fighter, but she's shown that she perhaps lacks the durability to get to the top, it seems.

Well, let's see German Citizen Akane.  That will be a satisfying moment at least

Realistic and grounded. I can be that annoying sometimes All Akane will get for the time being will be that German citizenship. Anything else will have to be earned with hard work - if she decides to continue. It's a harsh approach, I realise, but it's also an honest one after such a massive defeat.

Sophie and Takara have done a good job at handling Naomi with their verbal muscles. Sophie came close to using the physical ones as well

Heidi, yes... She is well-intentioned but she got caught in the promoter mode instead of thinking in human terms. Being taken to task by Regina has worked well but there is indeed tension at times involving the CEO. Sometimes that tension is productive. Sometimes just annoying. Will it lead to negative consequences later? I don't know yet. Friction exists, though, and it can be useful at any point.

Stay tuned for Citizen Akane

As I thought in the post-fight drama. ^^ Sophie chews up Naomi and later on, Takara voices her displeasure from being used as a family feud pawn between Naomi and Akane. What did she do?  Tell Naomi that

www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ubRRN… She's fired!

In spite of the threats from Naomi, I'm sure Takara will find a suitable promoter/trainer to guide her on the world stage, even if that isn't the Hamelich gym.  I'm wondering what will be next for her after this debacle!

For Akane, times will be difficult, but her being a champion herself - how she handles herself and bounces back from this will be the greatest test of character for her.  She does have a strong support stream to help her out, though.

I'm sure Takara can find her footing almost anywhere. She's cute, got heavy hands, sheer talent, and is an undefeated Japanese champion with international credentials by now. A dream for many coaches.

Akane's fate is less certain. I must reflect on it.

Wow and how the twists keep on coming.
It's reasonable for Takara to cut ties especially since a lot of coaching comes from trust and would be upset and concerned Naomi might one day betray her.

The one thing I don't get is why would Heidi write off Akane so quickly.  A lot of great fighters have lost badly and even though it was only three rounds it's was pretty back and forth and Takara won arguably due to more intimate knowledge of their opponent.

The one conversation I'd love to see is Akane and Takara.  That's an interesting relationship with possibilities. With or without Sophie in the mix.

I didn't promise drama without a reason

Heidi does have a point. Many fighters are broken after such a nasty knockout. Akane being a warrior, perhaps she has the mindset to overcome it, but the odds are bleaker than after a controversial decision.

Takara could have chosen the easy path by staying with an efficient coach, but her reputation does matter. She did the right thing, morally

Takara's decisions are to be defined It could be a little crowded if I were to make her go to Germany. Perhaps could she stay in Japan or find another country. Who knows... besides the fact that this opens up possibilities.

So the reactions went about as expected between sophie and naomi, with naomi probably being a bit lucky to walk out of that ring with her health still intact.

Takara's reaction is the weird one, since her coach's game plan was perfect and gave her a lot of clout internationally for beating akane and she just goes and fires her for using her as a hitman? Newsflash for her, but she wanted the fight, didn't complain about it and was even looking forward to it with nothing really hinting that she felt like she was a hitman before this fight ended. Bit of her thoughts missing here or did I just read over some parts? There's usually some hints before something like this blows up between naomi and takara and there was none of that being displayed by their relationship (and no, naomi being far from takara during the corner talk doesn't scream disfunction, it just screams indifference or professionalism, depending on the relationship).

Overall, Naomi got what she deserved by losing her best fighter and her chance to make herself a household name in the coaching buisness while takara lost a very good coach who got her to where she was, so we're unclear on how both of their carreers will progress.

Akane's future is the murkiest one, since losing her citizenship is a big blow to anyone and losing a fight to naomi will sting even more. Will be interesting to see where she goes from here, whether with or without boxing.

I didn't define Takara's thought process too much, but you can imagine that the sight of a destroyed Akane and a gleeful Naomi gave her a realisation. She may have realised the full extent of the reputational risk of being associated with the woman whose morals are flawed. Sometimes have those realisations after the fact in life.

Now, Takara has to think of how to proceed. Surely there will be good coaches interested in picking her up and bringing her to the next level. Naomi can't be the only qualified pair of hands.

Akane's future is undefined. I don't even know myself yet!

What a post, I figured it would be about time Sophie got into Naomis face after what she did, makes you wonder what she was gonna say to Akane, but if she said what she was gonna say I think that would have been a bad idea especially in front of all those people and especially Sophie who looks ready to drop her with one punch if she messes with her best friend.

Sophie is a dangerous girl that’s for sure but she’s also caring as well, she’s really matured a lot since the first time I saw her, she could have actually punched Naomi for what she did but decided not to, it was probably the right decision not to, she’s more of a sister to Akane then Naomi is. I thought she was gonna pee her pants after that threat 😂.

Not only did she have to feel Sophie’s anger but now Takara her top fighter fires her as a coach and that funeral dress feels like double burn for her .🔥 She’s not feeling all confident now, she lost her best fighter so best of luck on finding another fighter bitch!!! Thought she would have punched Naomi as well but I think she’s had enough

Well with that put of the way we go back to Akane, yeah she’s still gonna be feeling down after that....what she needs right now is a long vacation from boxing, I know something like this isn’t gonna be easy to get over especially now that you lose your citizenship to...Heidis telling Regina what it is like ouch, yeah she lost the fight but you can’t just give up on her like that and I know Regina will do whatever it takes to help Akane, not just as her coach but as her friend. If she can’t have Japanese citizenship she still has a place in Germany, she has a real family there.

But like I said she needs a long break right now, be away from the ring for a while so she clear her head and try to forget about all this drama.

One thing I never asked that I’m curious about is what her and Naomis parents think about all this or do they even know what’s going on?

Also one think I meant to point out at the beginning of the fight was Sophie’s outfit, she looks really good, looks like a business women or a secretary, a scary secretary

Overall I did enjoy reading this and liked the pics you made

alesiaboxing In reply to JjeanPhoenix [2020-02-20 20:06:36 +0000 UTC]

Akane will go on vacation. No doubt about that. The magnitude of this defeat makes it hard for her to recover and come back, so she needs time to find clarity. She needs to find her place, whether it is in the ring or somewhere else. I have to reflect on how to handle it myself.

It was the healthier option for Naomi to let fear guide her out of the ring with Sophie a couple of inches away from her face. You know how hard Sophie hits, and the anger would have made the punch even harder than usual. But then, assault in a foreign country is a bad idea in itself.

This is a messy situation for all involved. Takara did the right thing morally by dropping Naomi, but now she must decide what's next in her career. Naomi's credibility as a good coach is there, but her personal standing is at ground level. No one will want to deal with the vengeful woman who can't handle other human beings. The German camp has quite the task ahead if it wishes to rebuild Akane.

At the very least, we know that Sophie stands very strong at Akane's side. The maturity she has showed is exceptional and Akane knows that her best friend's unconditional support will be unwavering

If she is going on vacation then Sophie should go with her if she wants her to come, I’m sure her best friend will do anything to help cheer her up

Takara did make the right choice but i don’t know who Takara will have as her coach now, and we don’t know if it’s a good idea to leave Japan as well, but who knows anything can happen.
