holy moley, this piece is the exact same height as me (though slightly larger in width, I must clear up.)
it's great. the moon (ah the moon) is fabulous. I love it's personification thing that's barely noticable but beautifully executed.
it could be a comet, but I read it as the moon.
the lines coming off the moon (turbulence, wind, comet-tail, not sure) are gorgeous. they feel very loose and flowing, and mesh well with the stormy background sky. I really like that sky back there, it's detailed and looks great, really makes the foreground stick out.
I really can just go through this and tell you what I like about every little element, but that'd be weird. it works just to say that the whole piece is really quite gorgeous, and I love the way it's laid out. I wish it was a little bigger on DA, but in real life I bet it's stunning... what did you do with it?

Oils, my first time with oils.
The the piece of wood had a funny glaze over it, making watercolors repelled, yet oils soaked in a dried up extremly quickly.
So at first, the piece was great and fun, but as it dried it got harder. The last parts i worked on we're the man on the moon, and the 3rd planet with the spirit, and it became to difficult (as it obviously shows). I plan to return and finish this properly when I have a proper understanding of using oils.
