Description Since working with Vray i have been experimenting a lot. Here's an example of "How not to render". Lighting sucks, the model's position is way off and the colors are too blank.Plus, this small crappy render took 40 minutes. But look at the bright side: at least i managed to make materials renderable.

oh hah, wouldnt it work better just to have a single light? rendering time would decrease as well (i never could use vray to make anything, the rendering times just destroyed my interest in the thing i was working on, and if i made a mistake with lighting id have to wait another hour to see if i fixed it)

Thanks for that.I now use only one light in all my models. That was just a test. And i know the rendering time is kinda long but i think it's easier to use that mental ray.So instead of spending 45 minutes setting up the render, i spend 45 minutes actually rendering.

i understand where you are going with that, setting up lighting and fiddling with the numbers can be very tedious, but at the same time after it's set up right you can animate something (unlike with vray, unless you are willing to wait a year or so)

Well i'm not planning on animating anything to soon so i have time to wait.

on the bright side, everything except that light blue color looks realistic, well, for a Lego model at least

the light blue is actually due to the lights i added. But, as the title says, this was just a test render, so i put the light more or less randomly.
