I think that I speak for virtually every fan when I say that the 1991 palette works significantly better for Sonic, Desaturated Blue always suited him far better than bolder shades of Blue or even Mania's choice of using Cyan, something always has felt off about virtually almost every Sonic title Post~1991 and this is indeed it.
Wishfully, come the time for Mania to start getting mods for the PC version, this will be attended to, a palette mod to restore Sonic's 1991 palette will truly be a warm welcome for many people, it would be more fitting and probably might even be used more than the default sprites in the long run, time will tell though on this subject.

I think Sonic's Palette should vary depending on the Zone. Desaturated Blue for Sonic 1 Zones, and Cyan for Sonic Mania Zones.

Yeah well Cyan is what Sonic was originally supposed to look like in Sonic 1.
