Description There is always something left in the tank when I can see a good shot is possible. When light began to strike the summits of A'Mhaighdean and Ruadh Stac Mor I knew I didn’t have that much time. I wolfed down my dinner (noodles) and ran the 500m or so downhill to a collection of pools I had photographed earlier. Out of breath and feeling rather hot (despite the cold temperatures) I set about reframing the shot just as light hit the summit and the ridges to the south. The dark cloud behind the mountain added to the sense of drama. Although the scene was somewhat foreboding we were lucky with the weather and didn’t have a drop of rain all evening.

What a wonderful picture. And again, I shall say, this is hard work. This is ofcourse, doing what you like, but I see you in your efforts and your heart and soul into this; finding the spot, the timing and the lighting. Excellent. Excellent.

Very nice! Picturing cloudy landscapes is always difficult since the light becomes dull. Here there is still enough light in the background which added to the water, makes everything work. Fine.

well certainly worth running for. Actually its pretty regular that I am either too hot or too cold when hiking!

I can imagine....do you find it to dress in light weather proof clothes
or layers to remove and add when needed

Alex37 In reply to BrightStar2 [2012-06-09 07:55:21 +0000 UTC]

I wear layers, generally a baselayer and microfleece is a good bet for the British climate but that's too hot when your really active and too cold once you've stopped. So I have baselayer>fleece>down jacket>waterproof and I layer as needed. It works well but I wish I didnt have to keep putting things on and taking them off!

Doesn't surprise me this one had such little attention on here. Even so I think it's a brilliant image. I love the scene, your framing and the conditions.
