Description Hello everyone!

It's been a while since I had the means to have some photos taken of my latest work. This is a simple but lovely dress I made two years ago, and now it has finally been nicely photographed! Just as with my previous costumes, I tried to be as historically authentic as possible.

The dress is hand-sewn with historically accurate techniques and made of 100% wool. The pattern for the tunic is based on some 13th-century Icelandic patterns but was probably already used earlier than that, as it is a simple variation of the regular T-tunic. I chose the brown colour because this can be found naturally on sheep, and can also easily be dyed with chestnuts. When coming right of the sheep, this would have meant it was a cheap colour and could be worn by lower classes in society. Moreover, the simple design without embellishments makes it suited to multiple time periods and cultures in medieval Europe. Both of these make it a great all-around dress for reenactment. Furthermore, the dress is made out of thick wool, and therefore, very warm for the colder and wetter days we have plenty of in the Netherlands. And a bonus is that it provides great camouflage in the fall and winter

To make the outfit complete, I used the underdress  I made earlier.

The shoes were bought at Merchant of Menace

The photos were taken by  kedrednael.
