Description The finished green viking hood is linen, entirely hand sewn and embroidered with linen thread. Stitches used are herringbone stitch to finish the seam allowances and bottom hem, running stitch for assembly and accent around the hood opening, feather stitch for decorative reenforcement of the seams, and Oseberg rings for decoration on the hem.

Beautiful stitching! I made a cap similar to yours way way back in the early eighties. I must try and find it.Forgive me but is this linen? And I also would love to see this on someone!

It is linen, both fabric and thread.

Do you have a photo of someone wearing this?

Not yet. I'm hoping to manage it soon, but getting modeled photos of anything I've made in the past couple years has been nearly impossible, so I'm not holding my breath. I'm disabled, so I really need a second person to help with that, and most attempts have resulted in unusable photos.

Sorry to hear about that. What if you did a little fundraiser for a mannequin?Β

I would like to get one when I can, but right now I wouldn't have anywhere to safely put it. I'm really hoping to get a friend to take some photos this weekend. I have three hoods, an apron dress, and an underdress that fit me I want to get photos of.

Maybe this is a silly idea, but what about using a large plushy to model things? Like, a big stuffed bear or something might be ok for the hoods at least.

That would work of I had anything like that, but I don't, and neither do any of my local friends. That's a really neat idea, though.
