These look great, definitely the best tile set out there. I just wish there was a chrome, generic email, and generic music app icon.

These icons really match the Metro Look-and-Feel.
Only Gimp (Wilber's nose and brush) might be in need of an idea that even someone who does not remeber the original icon would immediately identify your image as a painting creature.

By the way, I wish to make a second version of all the series, a bit less like Metro, with different transparencies (for example with Firefox, the earth at 50%, continent 75% and the fox 100%), I think it's a good way to show details without outlines, and hopefully it will make Gimp look better ^^

I'm sure your new icons will look marvellous again.
Concerning Gimp: Previously Photoshop had this eye image as an icon, but now they have moved on to the simply idea of two letters. That is not becaus of metro, but matches its l-n-f quite well. Maybe Gimp has to find something like this in the future as well?
