When I give critique, I usually try to find something good, even if it's a really bad picture. And I try to find something bad, even if I really like the picture. But i can't do that with this.
Composition is perfect. I can't imagine any change of camera angle that would be better. The bird is perfectly placed.
Exposure is also perfect. Enough to give depth and tell us that we see houses not strange shapes. But it's still dark enough to make us wonder and give the impression of silhouettes . The sky is probably gone in the unedited photo and that's fine. I don't want to see clouds. Just a creamy void filling the negative space.
I don't know how much post work that has been done to this picture, and I do not really care. Maybe the houses really look that way, maybe the picture is skewed and rearranged and the bird painted by hand. Straight from camera or all 3D. Doesn't matter this is not documentation, it's art.
As for the title, 'Escape'. Well that doesn't really mean a lot to me. It tells me nothing and it doesn't raise any questions. But I don't see that as important. It may be for the artist and that's fine.
I'm mostly talking about technique, that doesn't mean that this picture isn't emotional. Rather the opposite, but technicalities I can write about and they work to tell something that is wordless.
