Description Back in December 2015, I was doing a break down of what makes a good fighting game character, I chose one of my favourite fighting game, Capcom vs SNK2 (CVS2) and here is a break down of Kim kaphwan.
He is a charge type, abit like Guile you play reactionary, you read what your opponent is likely to do, they throw their move out, if it doesn't connect you have a moment to attack while they are in recovery. He has some great diagonal moves and a slide kick that covers much of the ground. the charge is normally hold back+down and it feels like his moves act as options you can throw out whats appropriate. Its tricky to explain but yeah I love capcoms version of this KOF character as he and all the King of Fighters characters moves are modified to play like Capcom fighters with Light, medium and Heavy variants of their moves. Anyway this was fun, this is all the pages. it was a fun little exercise, I may do more characters at some point, well see.

Never used Kim.  Back then it was either Geese or Mai on Fatal Fury Special and Yamazaki or Geese or Rick Strowd on RB2. Never used any Tekwondo dudes unless I'm playing Tekken.

yeah for CVS2 i didn't play him much neither, just got frustrated when the AI would trounce me with him. that is until I understood how ur meant to play as charge types and made it my mission to play all 50 characters in that game, and I ended up liking alot of the KOF cast alot,
Yeah hwoarang's a cool guy thats fun to play for sure,
yeah Kims not perfect but it completely changes up the way u play in a fun way
Thanks for Writing Evanime

I couldn't enjoy CVS2. There's something about multiple Grooves/Systems that just turns me off. I just go back to SF3rd Strike when I'm itching for 2d fighters.

Third strikes parry system is P Groove in CVS2
its not quite as pin point accurate but its there.
I don't use all the grooves neither but I am partial to S Grooves, where u have to pick ur moments to charge up your meter to throw out supers, and u can dodge attacks with two buttons together. It makes sense since theres so many different play styles they've done over the years, when u do a cross over game between franchises, what system do you go with? instead of just picking one they put in a handful of fan favourites. Honestly its best to play Street fighter 2 and alpha etc. before getting to CVS2 cos its kind of requires you be familiar, i just learnt to appreciate it more once i came back after learning how to play fighters

I just love fighters that can stomp. I really find dificult to hit they when they are on the ground

yeah a stomps a pretty unusual move for a 2d fighter, since characters wake up pretty fast, but yeah its there, being downed gives u a moment to consider your strategy i find

I will do that for sure, since I think it could be helping developing characters as well^^
