hmm well I didn't time these. I spent maybe a couple hours a few days so somewhere close to 4-5 hours on an off.

yeah, I get that sometimes too. I've been fortunate enough twice to be recommended by another deviant for a DD on here and I made sure to say thank you to each and every person who faved it and respond to every comment. I think it's important to appreciate when others support your work. If there is no one to look at it then what good is it.

yeah it did. Especially when DA blocks you from just posting too much. I would make a "thank you post" open all the users and paste them into their comments for the people that faved. After about 50 it tells you that DA no longer allows you as it thinks its spam... So I had to wait another day and keep going. 800 favs later hahahaha.
And that doesn't include the people who commented.

I beg to differ, some people use art as a way to express themselves if they can't talk, sometimes the artwork never sees the light of day because it's just so important to the creator. Some artist may be too embarrassed to show anyone, or some just draw just for the pure happiness of it.
It's fun to show others and grow with support and encouragement, and showing artwork to others brings value for their works for many people, but, keeping artwork to themselves can have value too. There's some artworks that are very personal and are made with love and care with the intent to keep it hidden. You can think of it as a treasure. All art has value whether it's shown to people or not. ^ ^

point taken. I like to show everything I create. I usually have a sence of pride and accomplishment. I'm very open in life in general and am the same way with anything I paint or draw. But you make a very good point.

Usually it's hard to talk to people, especially as a teen, art and anything about it was my everything. Although i'm painfully shy, I love to talk about art, and share ideas and views about it.
But its good to feel pride and be open, you'll leave a lot of people inspired.

very good drawing!!! i like composition n this idea...about critique - i was told that using white color to show light on drawing its just shortcut...its more difficult to show it by shading with pencils only, working on depth of gray n black to extract light...anyway i like ur drawings n bloody background

Hey Sebus. I agree that working from a white paper showcases talent far better and drawings can look great. Although I do love doing in that, I never get time. My clients want their work yesterday so usually I have to take whatever fastest approach I can to get results. Ever since Drew Struzan it has almost become standard for most pros to work on tone paper for efficiency.
Glad you like it. I do want to spend some time one day and try one out like that. Its been years since I drew on white with intention of leaving it that way. Usually only draw on whites for under-paintings at this point
