If you follow a few people here... you could know that people love the BIG FOUR all together yess, hiccup and jack have kiss marks on their necks,
which include Hiccup, Jack, rapunzel and merida. If you make them like friends / class mates in your AU time, one of the girls could walk in on them... to make it a little bit awkward and all 
Or you could keep it a bit silly... because jack is expecting a kiss, Hiccup could easily grab his pen back and joke about how full Jack is about himself, but gives him a peck on the cheek in return for effort

Hiccup quickly snatches the pen and happily skips away. Jack freezes Hiccup's entire body except his head and the hand holding the pen. As Hiccup struggles to get out, Jack nonchalently walks towards him, plucks the pen from his hand and gets in his face. Jack gives Hiccup a smug grin, causing Hiccup to blush and give in. Finally, Jack and Hiccup lean in and blissfully kiss. Jack unfreezes Hiccup and gives him his pen. Then he looks into Hiccup's eyes and says, "Now was that so hard?" The end. Clean up your ovaries.

I'm guessing that Hiccup could lean in close, then before they kiss he takes his pen and runs; if not that, maybe use the kiss to distract Jack. At least that way they're both happy ^^ (I'm leaning more to the kiss myself haha
