first off i have to say that you did an awesome job on this but one thing why does every one like rocket raccoon so much ? geez sometimes i feel like the only starlord fan

You did an amazing job. It's certainly one of my favorite Guardians of the Galaxy covers so far, if not my favorite.
I haven't felt like previous cover artists had done a good job when drawing Rocket Raccoon. I'd say you nailed it.

Love the drama in the womans body language.
Only you could get a racoon with a lasergun to look like a complete badass.
Great angle, too - love how it crescendos in the galaxy up here.

It looks cool, if nothing else the characters is striking and interesting. There are some issues with the coloring, however. Just like me, there are some tendencies here to over-render shadowy areas, however slight it does become prominent throughout the image, and lessens the effect of the light sources.
I also think that the gun the Raccoon is holding could use some more contrast in design, as well as lightning. Using a multiply layer to darker some parts, then an Overlay layer to localize some of the lighting might do the trick.

When I first saw this I thought it might have had something to do with Star Fox (the Nintendo game). I have never heard of The Guardians but I might just have to check it out now purely for the Raccoon/Machine Gun action.

Thanks! I'm afraid this piece was a paid gig for Marvel with the specified characters they wanted on it. Wish I had time to paint the whole massive cast just for fun, but man, that would take a ridiculous amount of time
