i don't know why but i just like the look of portraits with a black background.same as always - Model is P.Pearson @ [link]
took this with a Canon instead of my usual Fujifilm. I WANT A CANON. ooft.

Very strong capture! I love black backgrounds too, specially in this one with the shine on the dark leather jacket.
Also the hair integrates in the background which makes the face and the printed T stand out like a form on its self!

How can you do this? What camera are you using? Mine well doesn't do this, I don't think.

aha, uhmm. i used a Canon EOS 1000D (never used one before. WANT.) but the original picture was taken in the street at sunset. i turned the picture black+white in Microsoft Windows Live Photo Gallery (comes with windows 7) and used photoshop to make the background pure black. cheating i know... this is the second picture i've ever shopped, sorry if its abit crappy. :')
if you mean how do you get the black background there's a bunch of ways. for instance; for this picture - [link] he was lay on a black sheet and just upping the contrast makes it pitch black :3 sorry for the ramble!
