I'll admit the message behind this took me a while to decipher, at my first interpretations I thought you were just exploiting the feminine figure and contrasting with some obscure background sort of in a Luis Royoish clichΓ© way, throwing in some environmental theme to spice up some sense of a deeper meaning.

And it was annoying.

It was annoying to see a hot naked chick in a subtle seductive stance, in a picture that appears to be connected with an attempt to raise my awareness of environmental issues.

But after watching the clip in the link I came back and realized the chick blends perfectly with the place.

I disagree on calling our race a "throw-away society" though, because I am aware of the considerable amounts of people that in essence have nothing to do with the chick in the picture.

And I disagree on assuming a pessimistic attitude when our cognitive abilities are 100% functional. Doing so only ensures the possible doom you mention up there...

is a fantasy painting that represents our single-use-item-throw-away society.

A very fine sentiment, well expressed.

I like the colour scheme to this, and the composition is very strong. My compliments on a fine piece.

I think your speech about "our throw away" plastic society is B.S.
What's your solution? Paperboard use kills trees we are told. Plastics can easily be recycled. Blame the people like yourself. I like some of your art but your politics are naive. You came from Russia?
Go home young lad and solve their problems and then go hide out in gutless, socialist Canada where the specialty is moving terrorists to the US.

Thank-you for making a statement for the seas. You've made a very beautiful and telling piece; the way how the machines and plastics have a dead look and Venus is the only one left alive. Now, collect and reuse/recycle your plastics and buy packaging that doesn't use plastics. We can win the oceans back from ourselves.

You need to be working for a gaming company making top dollar.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

alexiuss In reply to subtronik [2009-04-04 02:24:33 +0000 UTC]

an artist working for a game company can only make a specific amount of money that is set by the industry, which is sadly not top dollar. Most of the money in large gaming company goes to art directors, investors and executives. Also there's the inevitable sacrifice of time and images themselves as game companies tend to demand full image rights.
