The very first time I played TR1 and reached Atlantis levels, I was amazed by the idea of levels and monsters made of flesh and muscles. I love it. And I was so fucking happy in 2007 when Tomb Raider Anniversary had it's premiere. Too bad, that they decided to change Atlantis levels a bit, also the monsters were way less scary. I don't know but Iam the kind of person who is fucking scared of monsters in poor, old textures. In TRA everything seemes... pretty normal.Anyways, one of my very favourites is centaur. The design is based on these pictures:

I'm scared at well on the old levels. I always watched my father's plays. And now I am fighting with myself if I should give the games a try but I am so scared xD

There's actually a mythic monster who looks a little like this. His name is Nuckelavee and he drags people out in the sea and drown them. He's from Scotland and the Orkneyislands.
