History: When the exportation of Nordanners to our world became commonplace the biggest complaint was that there was no way to continue the dragon fighting tradition the breed was known for. The community got together and over the course of ten years build the Dragon Fighting Stadium, or DFS, a huge enclosed arena rivaling the size of Olympic stadiums. It was outfitted with the best of technology to recreate dragon fighting using holographic dragons and advanced hit detection software and scoring systems.
Competitors would battle a dragon in real time in the arena, fighting to take it down as quickly as possible with as little damage to themselves. Over time the games were refined, straying away from Aleria's traditional dragon fighting into a more flashy, stylized battle. (Think the difference between down and dirty wrestling and the highly televised final tournaments)
Nowadays, the dragons are augmented by air blowers that bring the dragon alive by blasting air over the audience when it flies by, or breathes fire. A multitude of digital screens around the arena keep track of progress and flash advertisements for team merchandise. Matches are televised and watched by millions, especially the Top Ten tournament where the ten best teams of the year compete.
Horses and their riders are scored based on a complex algorithm including damage dealt, damage taken, crowd appeal, time, and other factors calculated by the hit detection hardware woven into the regulation tack. Dragons must be beaten within thirty minutes or the team forfeits, and failure can also be had if the team is "slain" by the dragon. The higher the points at the end of the round, the better the team does.
Aven started out in the junior leagues under the show name "The First Avenger" and very quickly proved to be an excellent fighter and a crowd favorite for her economic grace in the arena. She won into the Top Ten and beat out even the more experienced teams. On her last battle, moments away from setting an all-time battle record, she landed wrong from a leap and injured her leg. She had to be retired from the tournament and forfeited her win. She was sold to us from DeathValleyRanch to recover, and perhaps be re-entered if she heals in time for next year's auditions.

Temperament: Clever and sharp-witted, Aven was an instant success in the ring. Her flashy movements and excellent precision netted her high scores, and she quickly clawed her way out of the junior leagues into the Top Ten tournament, where she was a hit with the audience. Although her injury lost her the Top Ten trophy, she is still a beloved favorite and everyone hopes to see her back next season.
Surprisingly, the fame hasn't gone too far to her head. She detests bullies and show-offs and does her best not to become one. She is highly responsive under a knowledgeable hand, but rather bull headed against newbies since she knows better than them, and knows she knows better than them. With other horses she is friendly enough, but doesn't go out of her way to mingle. In her mind she's at RWE only as long as it takes to get back in fighting shape.

Quirks:
- Her rider, Brian, chose this song as her entrance music for fights, and now it's so firmly ingrained in her that as soon as she hears even two bars her head goes up, feet square off and ~pose~
- Pretty much bombproof against anything man made, she couldn't care less about crowd noises or bright lights.

Trivia:
- She was gifted to me by the ever-fabulous GunsSmoke because she knew how much of a crush I had on Aven |D
- She is my first dominant mutation, and my second black peafowl. Apparently I attract black peafowls xD
- Slayer's Soren is also a DFS competitor ;D

Breeding RulesHere's the bottom line; I'm looking to place these foals into story-based homes.
I breed for character and plot, and ask the same of those who acquire slots to my horses. If you have a plan in mind, send me a note with a story. Tell me about the foal you hope for, how it will fit into your stables. If I feel we're seeing eye to eye, I will give you a slot.
Nordanner slots will cost one fullbody with background and dragon tack picture of a horse of my choice, and a fullbody with background breeding picture.
Price may go up or down depending on the horse; slots to doms will typically cost more.
Other breeds are subject to rates based on that breed.
I don't enforce crazy rules; you may breed a dom or recessive, and sell or gift the foal down the line, I just ask to be kept somewhat updated as to what's going on with them as I do care about them. A well looked after and active foal may even inspire some fan art from me!
