There's a disquieting lack of empathy in his eyes. It's the first thing to be noticed, after the suit and the mask have stopped being strange. They're protection, not for him, but from him. A wall of cloth and fiber between whatever animal lurks in his head and the moral compass of the rest of the world.

He's a caged animal, patient enough to wait for the day when the mask will slip. Poised enough to move through the underbelly of the world without making waves. But he's dangerous, unpredictable, full of mood swings and a deep-seated lust for the downfall of any empire.

He's the monster under the bed for any businessman, the shadow against the wall that will sooner consume you than ask for the time of day. He's a quiet rumor in the blackest part of everyone's minds.

Jackal.

Here's a character that never found the light of day. He's been lurking on and off for years (the lineart for this piece is dated August of 2011, and I believe he'd been around a good two years before that) but has never found his way into the spotlight. I'm not even sure you can properly call this his moment.

Jackal is, for lack of better terminology, a hitman-for-hire. He's the person you go to when you've literally no options left, except for choosing between murder and suicide. He'll do the murdering for you...but for a price, and he won't tell you that price until he's come to collect it. His world has always been one part fantasy to every three parts reality; he's more human than not, but anyone who's met him will tell you there's something not quite right about the man in the mask.

I modified existing lineart that I believe belonged to =parox-ysm , although again this file is so old I'm not completely sure of that.
