Turns out that spending a lot of time casting earth magic in the woods amoung plants has a tendancy to influence one's familiars. Rashaldi's army of magic sponges might start out as cute little kittens but the ones that stick around long enough to be useful end up more plant than animal.I'm still deeply struggling with Rashaldi's reference itself, but doodling little plantcats in the meantime is keeping me sane xD I love these little fucks, they're so cute and fun to draw!
I'm still looking for an ARPG group that might let me use a creature similar to this/these guys to tell Rashaldi's story... if you run or are in such an ARPG please let me know!
