Hey Man!

I really love your sfx animations! do you have any idea if this style is transferable into a particle system? I'd love to paint some animated spritesheets for my games but have problems imagining the single parts that would be necessary to put such an effect together...maybe you have some hints for me?

Nontheless this is just great work!

So if no one is allowed to use this, then I have something to say. It was used inΒ Object Overload: Episode 1 - "Rostrum Rampage" Β and the person who made that episode claimed that all of the animation was done by him, yet your fire was used numerous times. Just letting you know.

Just to let you know, Inanimate Insnaity used the fire as well, and took all credit to theirselves

Hi.. Alex! I used your fire in a previous video of mine, I was wondering if it was still allowed to be used. Of course if you are directly credited for it

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AlexRedfish In reply to PhoebeBebebebe [2015-11-15 11:46:29 +0000 UTC]

Hi! It wasn't to be used in personal or commercial works from the start actually as stated by creative commons license. The source file is out there for educational purposes. I can't stop people from using it though, so it's all about selfrespect.

XanyLeaves In reply to AlexRedfish [2015-11-07 14:17:01 +0000 UTC]

Once again, I'm extremely sorry for using it without permission. It was sent to me by a friend and I had no idea that it was not meant for use.

No worries. Just be more watchful next time and keep up the good work!

XanyLeaves In reply to nathanael29 [2015-11-02 21:46:50 +0000 UTC]

I was not aware that this wasn't available for use, it was sent to me by a friend who had never told me the source. If I had known it wasn't available for use, I would have never used it, I did not use it maliciously or to take any credit away from Alex, I'm going to add an annotation to the video immediately. I never credited the creator because I had no idea who the creator was; and I couldn't find the original source of the animation. I will certainly cease use of the fire with the knowledge I have now; and I sincerely apologize to Alex for using it in the first place.

I used your tutorial, it was extremely helpful man.Β  I appreciate it. I stuck really close to your model but the way you broke this down will definitely help with handling flames in general. Thanks a lot man.

Wow I really love your process! Do you mind showing your process on how to make smoke/mist next? I have been sitting in awe looking at some of the Air attack in the Punch slashes fx animations 2 and the Fire slash's smoke and would love to see how you did it! 8D

S-ed [2014-09-29 01:30:11 +0000 UTC]

It's awesome. IMHO flame framerate(speed of moving upwards) unbalanced, it bursts and slows down.
You can use masking for such things as coloring (i.e. no need for gradient fill in each frame, just turn animation layer in mask).

Thanks so much for sharing, to see your process is really interesting. To connect the first frame with the last one is the hardest part, right? I really love your work. ^^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AlexRedfish In reply to cevier [2014-04-02 16:59:23 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! It was the hardest part for a long time. Now I do about 2/3 of the whole animation and then animate "backwards" from the first frame. I found that method to be the easiest for me
