My favorite comment on this page was "Yup. That deer definitely is drawn quite nicely dead."
I definitely think this page is my favorite of the bunch. Both because it was the less painful to me, but also just because it's simple but aesthetically pleasing. It's only four panels but I'm actually content with all the information I managed to pack in there. You can develop characters in one page. Who woulda thought!

On one hand, it's kind of impressive how far her pup could have gone before she noticed her absence. On the other hand, momma mare is certainly more impressive of a hunting creature than she looks (did think her a herivore at first.)

Aha, we had a fun discussion in my class about how she could have been distracted so long. We all came to the conclusion she was likely still running off as the mother was searching for her. Who knows how far she'd get if those thorns didn't trap her.
She's a strong old nag, I can say that much. That deer-thing couldn't have been easy to snag.

The motion of the characters and the poses are great, especially love the deer running in the second to last panel. I also enjoy how momma's fur/hair droops down very naturally.

I swore I thought my teacher was going to have some sort of beef with the one deer having its rear in foreground focus but he didn't. It was a successful deer butt I guess.

Ohh, like to replace "reckless" in panel one? Those are two different contexts though. One is instilling that she puts herself in dangerous situations or is careless. The other is just that she's... broken. Which she's clearly not despite her age xD Oh the irony.
