i don't understand something,
the blur on around the spider- is that an edit or the photograph?
especially on the top, it looks too blurry.

LOL! I'm trying to figure out your lighting set up from the reflections...
It looks like there's possibly an unfired flash with a diffuser (?) showing in the bottom half of it's eyes

I used MT24ex twin flash with this work.. both fired but at different power. As for the bottom half it's just a piece of paper to reflect the light & to fill the dark areas
