Description Second round of more detailed sketches for my speculative biology world of Pfwool. Each of these sketches will focus on biodiversity among relatively closely related organisms sharing common characteristics

Depicted here are small amphibious Pfwooli organisms found within and around water in both terrestrial and arboreal territories, analogous to Terran frogs. Evolved from the simple ancestor depicted in the upper left corner, this group of organisms once possessed six feeding feet used to directly absorb nutrients. They has since adapted to more specialized and diverse forms. All possess four locomotive limbs which are no longer capable of absorbing complex nutrients but can still be used to absorb water for re-hydration. Beyond this, the anatomy diverges into two generalized categories. The first group has an enlarged feeding mouth devoted exclusively to that task, often studded with sensory buds to detect food and an enlarged posterior cavity adapted from their remaining foot which has since adapted to contain their reproductive organs. The second group's remaining two limbs have been adapted into a variety of specialized and sensitive stalks used communication and food detection. Feeding is enabled through a suction-pad like orifice usually located under their single eye but can also be found under their abdomen. Being small, they make easy prey for larger organisms and their single eye stares upward to search for approaching predators while their small, flat bodies make them harder to detect and grab. Technically they are vegetarian, though that categorization of appetite is complicated by the fact what appear to be Pfwooli animals often have plant characteristics, and vice versa.

Being a diverse set of organisms that encompasses swimming, crawling, leaping and gliding adaptations, I am more than likely to eventually separate this group into more focused sub-groups for further study.
