Description One of the more bizarre examples of Snaidi biology, float-fangs are aquatic serpentine vertebrates named their buoyant posterior and large fangs (their mating head beak and front limbs). Their rear floats above the water and they have limited control over direction thanks to their paddle-like hind limbs. Suspended from this biological floatation device is the rest of their snake-like form which can be partially retracted up into their posterior to aid in camouflage. Some specimens are poisonous, both as a defense against predators which could otherwise make easy prey of their floating foam and also as a means of subduing their prey. All float-fangs must periodically surface for oxygen. Some specimens actually use their buoyant body as a lure; attracting surface prey to it, only to burst from the water and wrestle their prey beneath the surface.
