Description
The Type 79 Heavy Battlestar or Eta IV–class designed by Libran and Virgon; the Type 79 is often nicknamed the “Beast.” The Type 79 also strike fear into the heart of the Cylons. The Type 79 came into serviced in 7110. The Type 79 is one of the most powerfully Battlestar constructed by the Colonies and can takes on up to four Basestar by itself. Carried 160 Vipers and new doubled–sided flight pods, the Type 79 were introduce to offset the growth Cylons number superior. Legendary Commander Adam Cain himself called the Type 79 the best Battlestar designed and was in–line to take command of a Type 79 once he return Molecay; however Cain nor the Battlestar Pegasus ever return from Molecay.

The Battlestar Acropolis, one of the six Battlestars at Cimtar, is an example of a Type 79 Battlestar.
