This happened because gay rights and also I hate Ken Penders

Anyway I redesigned Shorty the Squirrel/Shortfuse the Cybernik from the Fleetway Sonic comics. In this context (which borrows elements from the Archie Sonic reboot) he's an ex-Egg Soldier like Jian, but unlike the Egg Bosses who only have partial cybernetics, Shorty's entire body is cybernetics, basically making him a cyborg. Idk what exactly his backstory is at this point (maybe he and Rotor were childhood friends who met after being evacuated to Knothole Village) but at some point he got roped into the Egg Army (whether or not he joined willingly I'm still figuring out) and decided he didn't wanna be part of it and got the heck out of dodge; now he's basically a wanted fugitive in Eggman's eyes. He has a temper and he knows it, hence his name, but he's trying to work on it. Being around Rotor makes him want to do and be better. Rotor is firm but reassuring when he talks to Shorty, a manner he knows Shorty can handle, and encourages him to channel his anger through healthy, productive means; and ironically, it's Shorty who helps keep him grounded when Rotor gets worked up. They also bond over a shared cynical sense of humor.

I decided to make Shorty's fur gray in order to help him stand out from Ray. Tbh he probably wouldn't take off his helmet like that, at most he'd probably retract the visor and mouthpiece if he wanted to. After coloring him in I realized that I liked EvanStanley 's Shorty design way better than mine, but I still like my Shorty's boots. If I had a voiceclaim for him...maybe Jesse Nowack?

BUT YEAH THAT'S ROTOR'S NEW BOYFRIEND THAT I GAVE HIM BECAUSE HE DESERVES TO HAVE HIS ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS DONE RIGHT

The doodle of Amy and Tekno in the upper-left corner is based on a headcanon I came up with. I like to believe that Amy ultimately wants to marry Sonic, but will happily devote herself to someone else in the meantime, whether it's Tekno or Blaze or whoever. With or without Sonic, Amy's character is tied to the concept of love, so her personality should reflect that.
