To this day, Phantom of the Opera remains one of my favorite musicals/movies. The songs themselves are just beautiful to say the least. This remains one of my favorite scenes from the recent movie, the transition from the cemetery to the photograph behind the candle. The emotions are just so strong; at least for me.

I just had to do this when I came across the prompt for =Diamond4girl 's Drawn to A Moment contest [link] It was the first thing that came to my mind when I originally heard of it.

For this I actually took my own screen-shot from the movie. I definitely learned more about finding good references during the process. I did choose to take out Christine's tombstone for this picture - the random rectangle looked a little strange out of context.

Made with a mixture of graphite and colored pencils. The rose itself took about as long as the rest of the drawing. I used about 11 different shades of red and green to get this result. I also gained more experience using different types of graphite. Plus this was the first time I ever mixed the two mediums and it was a lot of fun.

Anyways I'm extremely happy with the wall this turned out, even when you can't see most of the background because of my scanner.
