This is lovely!!!
We would like to find out if you would be OK if we used this image on a gift tag for a Downton Abbey themed knitting event we are hosting later this month. We would most certainly include your details for the design and where people can find your art. We weren't sure if there might be a purchase for this?
Thank you for considering!

Jennifer;
as long as it's a gift; and its not something you are selling, I don't mind you using it. It's REALLY thoughtful of you to ask! So many people just use art they find online. I also appreciate that you'd offer to include the details about myself and the art; it's really wonderful that you'd offer to do that.
Best of luck with your event!
Allison

thanks; I was going for more Art Deco with Edith, but the two era overlap; so I guess it's ok if the stylings overlap too!

Absolutely fantastic!! Do you find that the copic markersΒ bleed a lot on the recycled paper? I'm having trouble finding a paper type that either doesn't bleed to death or smudge the pencil and ink lines. Again, amazing work!

not really, no. but then, I don't really have much bleeding issues at all. Either I've learned to subconsciously accommodate for it, or I'm not filling my pens enough.

regular printer paper is just good for printing. There's no reason to draw on that stuff.Β
I have great luck on many different paper types with the Copics. Strathmore drawing paper is great, as are their two new drawing papers- Toned Tan and Toned Gray. Love it. I also really like working on Canson's Mi Tientes papers- they come in all different colors, but you can get it in white if you prefer. It has a textured side and a smooth side. Unless I plan on going back in afterward with some pencil or colored pencil, I often opt for working on the smooth side. But you should experiment and see what you like best.
Honestly? I never work on marker paper. It doesn't seem to absorb the pens as much as I want it to. I know some people want the ink to sit on the surface; so that would be a good medium for them to try using.

Thank you so much for your detailed reply, I sincerely appreciate it!! Β
Not having a proper art store were I live I'm forced to rely on buying things through the internet, and it's so difficult to get a feel for paper and colors (especially copics!) when you can't touch them and try them. That makes recommendations like yours invaluable to me! Thanks again! Β

ah- I didn't realize you were looking for "order it online" detail. So: the white paper both Adam and I like is Strathmore 400 series. You can get it in pads of all sizes and sketchbooks. And I believe that their Toned Tan and Toned Gray is also Strathmore 400 series.Β
I don't know if they still do it, but a million years ago you could write to a paper company and request a sample packet. That would allow you to try your medium of choice (in this case, Copics) on their paper before ordering. Maybe see if you can find anything about this sort of program on their website?
