Description
The original version of Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All Out Attack would’ve featured Anguirus the God of sea and Varan the God of sky, originally titled Godzilla X Varan, Baragon And Anguirus: Giant Monsters All Out Attack.

Varan is one of my all time favorite monsters and not only was he going to make a second appearance in a Godzilla movie but would’ve finally fought Big G on the big screen along side Anguirus who would’ve been given ice powers and a breath attack.

Even though Toho’s main producer approved of the idea, Shogo Tomiyama requested to replace the former two with the more popular King Ghidorah and Mothra as Anguirus and Varan were not considered famous enough to guarantee a box office hit even thought Anguirus is a huge fan favorite among the fandom.

First of all, Ghidorah does not work as a guardian nor a hero since he’s always portrayed as a villain and is too small and weak compared to other Ghidorah’s. Mothra looks absolutely ugly and does not work as the God of water since her insect body is not well suited for swimming.

I could care less whether this movie would become a box office hit or not, I just wanted to see Anguirus and Varan get more love and respect from the fandom and they work so much better as the Gods of sky and water.
