Description
This is an image I've been working on for the past months. I wanted to create an image where a lake is breaking up as a mirror. I wanted to make the effect look as realistic as possible so I decided to buy 17 square meters of mirrors last summer and brought out the mirrors, a boat and the model to a stone-pit.Behind the scenes video of how it was made:Β youtu.be/OpMtcze2A3Q?list=PLv_β¦

Wow, very, very cool! Β Great idea and execution of it. It is kind of a play off that kind of line- "the lake was like a mirror shimmering in the morning light" but you took it steps further - made it a mirror and broke it. Β Very creative!Β

I love the way the sky looks like any old torn photograph. As a viewer I thought "Aight."; that is, until my eyes followed the rip down to the lake surface in the far background, where the fissure makes its way slowly to the foreground. Way cool.

Haha! I have been a fan of your work for a long time but yet didn't know you had a deviantart account. As soon as I saw this I said to myself "Wow, It looks so much like Erik Johanssons edits" then I visited your account and yep it is

What is going on with the strange line in the middle of the sky? Did you use two photos for that part and not blend them together?

I wondered too the first moment I saw, but it looks like it's the point of impact - where the sky is splitting, a crack goes from throughout the lake if you look closely.
