Description
This is a new project I've been working on for the past months. A grandmother on a trip in her little house. Photographed in Prague, old town square and Sweden (house). The rocks around the house were photographed during a road construction in Prague. It turned out quite dark but I liked the mood this way.ΒI'd love to hear your thoughts about it, what comes to your mind when you see it? Please share your thoughts!

Judging by the face of the granny maybe she sees her surrounding as how she remembers them in her childhood; lush with colors, instead of only the dark gloomy city scape we get to see.

it's kinda cute. The granny not aware of the destruction she creates. Somewhat how I see some elderly people drive their car or e-bike trough traffic without noticing all the other people who try to avoid being driven over by them, because they are driving faster than their own minds can still keep up with

She's in a train traveling to see her loved ones but she isn't a very good driver but the light poles understand and try to move out of the way.

Damn , was watching Blade Runner 2049 last night(4K is AWESOME) and when Joe(k) crashes ,that scene went thru my mind , with the Telephone Booth that Dr. Who uses , instead of the car .

I love how warm and inviting the inside of her home looks in comparison to the cold, dark, unloving city streets. Just like a visit to (or in this case from!) Grandma's house should be.

I'm living for half a year in Sweden at the moment, and that's not even a very long time, but these houses are soo typical around here. So I didn't even have to read your caption to think of Sweden immediately, and I think that's what tiny red houses will always do, even when I get back home, which is a very nice thought.Β
I also like the idea of carrying you home with you wherever you go, which I can also relate to quite good at the moment. So the image makes me think of home, and how I miss it, and in the same moment of how I will miss Sweden when I'm back. Pretty weird nostalgic mix at the moment, thanks for that!

Really clever image! In a way, this makes me think of me every time I visit a somewhat large city. There's always something of the Swedish countryside left, deeply rooted, inside of me wherever I go and it just won't go away. I've never actually lived in a classic red and white house like that and probably wouldn't want to either, but still... It's a bit like a snail. The house or at least the idea of that traditional house travels along with you and even leaves a trail behind you wherever you go, even if you can't see it.
Plus, I love that fact that grandma' is tearing up Prague... That's very metal.
As long as they don't bill her for all the repairs afterwards. Then a hotel would probably have been a better choice.

Oh, you live there? That must be so wonderful! I've always wanted to go there. It looks so beautiful in all the photos I've seen. So full of history and wondrous architecture.
I've not had the chance to go there yet, but it's very high up on my bucket-list.

making it dark affects a bit the order in which you see things: for me, I saw the tilted lamp posts and started wondering what's going on, then inspecting the bushes around the house (which are usually around the house) I discovered that they are actually paving stones
I really like the reflection on the pavement (though a bit long/equally distributed for the 2 left lamps?), did you use 3D or just Photoshopped night to day or is it a night shot?

thanks for the feedback! it's only photographs, the light reflection on the ground is actually from real lights on those spots so I just put the lights in my image in the same spots

I did not understand that the house was supposed to be moving until I read the text. I just saw a cottage with pavestones cast up around it.

Maybe if you added some stuff to make the cottage more shiplike it would be more obvious that you were shooting for movement. Β Maybe a wheel for the old lady, maybe a ships radar, maybe a great outborder kicking up stones behind the cottage?
