I've binge watched the first two seasons of Steven Universe. I'm in love with the show, the characters, the jokes, the design, the characters, the characters, the gems, the plot, the colors, EVERYTHING! I can't pick a favourite, but amethyst cracks me up and I'm a lot intro purple these days so, Amethyst Fanart Tiiiime!Oh and straight form the sketchbook #5, I think.Β

In that case i have to ask what exactly you used to make this and where did you learn how to color so well

The first one's easy: I took a picture with my phone of the sketch, put it in Photoshop and painted it using standard brushes.
The other one is tricky, buut the best advice out there is to analyse works of people who really inspire you and even do studies, I mean reproduce what they made and always give credit and link back to the original work. When it comes to color, a softer artist would be loish, she is amazing, I almost always think of her stuff when I'm painting, and then there's Marc Brunet, who also has fantastic tutorials and I learned a lot from him. Oh and practice
