Description
Couldn't get the proper resolution for the eyes to appear well on a picture, but they are blue and they look better on the actual drawing. Avi's IG pic from the day he filmed the Daft Punk video.~5 hours with 1B, 3B, 4B, 5B, and 6B graphite pencils, q-tip, tortillions, fine-tipped erasers, fingers, blue colored pencil, and chalk.

Thank you! Those EYES, though, they're the hardest thing to color when all you have is crappy eighteen year old colored pencils and they don't do those contacts justice.

Not sure...I mean, I've been working on drawing since late 2011, but only just got into all this drawing in March of this year when I found out I was going to go see PTX in concert in Birmingham. So, I really took my time, stopped using chalk pastel, looked at intricate detail, incorporated the use of q-tips and tortillions, invested in some fine-tip erasers, and just took the drawings one box at a time since I use the grid method. Seems to work better than what I was doing before, but I'm still not to the point of realism that I want to be at.

Yeah, it did take years, especially since i started by tracing faces by holding up printed out photos of them to the window back in...oh, I wanna say '09, '10? Someone on here actually sent me a message and asked why I don't try drawing and I said it was because I was too scared to attempt it. I'm my own worst critic and I let it hold me back.

You just gotta keep at it and eventually it'll happen. Jackie Earle Haley, the guy I tagged in the drawings, favorites a lot of things I tag him in. As for PTX, getting to give them their stuff was amazing when I met them. I have a group photo with them and a selfie with Avi who I also gave a dragon book to since it was just after his birthday. Don't ever stop trying because you can't let YOU of all people hold you back.

Most celebrities (especially PTX) enjoy all artwork given to them--they decorated their tour bus with all the pieces they were given, if you didn't know that already.

yeah, but ptx is still a bit up-and-coming, you know, in touch with the fans. Which is nice, but not default for all celebs.

Even well-known actors or celebrities love their fans like Liam Neeson, Chris Evans, Sylvester McCoy, Michael Rooker who I also met and gave artwork to.

Avoiding self loathing in any way, shape, or form is key. You'll get there. It helps to watch tutorials as well.

Though it's something I've yet to create to a point of looking real, I still refer back to this and other tutorials by the same deviantartist.
