Ooo, sentimental. >D
I think this is the best one out of the others, due to the fact, yes, because of the lighting and the main feeling in it. Wish those plushie eyes were closeable, that'd really bring out the warmth. n_n Nice job.
Say, is that the same 2 feet Stitch they were selling in Ebay at the time? o_o "2 Feet Terror"?

Thanks Matt, for those kind words.
Ohana is what this image and all of the Blue Comfort series is about. It's all the different ways that Stitch can bring comfort to those of us that need it, it's about his love, it's about bringing people together.
I'm really sad that the comments on this image got off to a bad start. I may have overreacted to Nate and I'm sorry. I've been under a lot of pressure lately from outside sources (not DA), and I'm afriad I've been a little sensitive lately. But that's probably also the very reason I'm continuing the Blue Comfort series...because lately I've really needed comfort, and the blue guy seems to help with that a lot.
Nathan....I understand that it may seem strange or wasteful to post more than one image of the same "scene", but in this case, each was different enough that I couldn't decide between the final four images, and so I put them all up so that each could display what it had to offer.
In regards to my other deviations...yes, a lot of them deal with the same subject. But are very different when it comes down to the actual images submitted. The TPA and UTW images are all related to airline ideas I had, but the art relating to these spans from wep pages to logos to actual repaints of virtual aircraft....so it's not really repetitive.
Also, that stuff is several years old. It has never been seen online (with the exception of a select few images) before. But all of it was intended to go online. Since all of it is art, should it not be submitted to DeviantArt where Art is appreciated?
I hope that makes sense. Likewise I have the whole AI at dusk series. All of those images are various times of flight and sunset, so all are different enough to submit. You'll see that in the future with my account. I have many, many galleries of FS aircraft inflight where a unique or beautiful situation prompted screenshots to be taken. All were taken with the intent of sharing with others.
Not everyone is going to be interested in FS screenshots...nor is everyone going to be interested in fantasy airlines or Stitch images or a drawing of Stitch I did on someone's arm. Not everyone is going to care about my weather pictures, and not everyone is going to sift through all of my aviation photos taken on the ground and in flight. I have a lot of those. I was hoping to put those on DA, but some might call it repetitive. Those that have little interest in such things. But when you're the one behind the camera, you know what it is you want to share with each and every image. (You know this too, as a photographer, Nate.)
I have a huge backlog of material from over the years. I tend to upload a few images at a time. If I didn't I'd spend years just catching up to present day. Once I get everything worthy of being on DA online, then I'll probably taper down to just a few images a week (one or two per day). But these images don't belong on snapfish or photobucket....they belong here. Because they are art. Because I care about them. Because someone on DA will appreciate them.
I continue submitting for people that do care. If no one cares, I'll pack up and go home. But even if an image has 5 views on it I know that at least someone out there was interested enough to click on it. Sure I hope I get more hits on my images, but that'll have to come in time.
It does not matter to me if someone else is better than me. It only gives me incentive to practice and improve. I prefer an image that is close to the original anyway, post processing can make an image beautiful, but at the same time, it kind of detaches the image from reality a little. I prefer to use the originals, flawed though they may be.
I have to stay true to myself on this one, Nathan. This is my art. It is what I want to share. I can't change what I'm doing, or stop what I'm doing, because some or even a majority aren't interested. I'm doing this for the small number of people that would be interested. If I brighten just one person's day, then my objective is complete. I want nothing more than to share this with others so that they can derive some sort of enjoyment out of it. Plus it makes me feel good knowing that someone will finally see these things, whether they're new, or have been locked away on my hard drive for years. Someone will see them. Finally, I get to share. Even if some on DA don't consider it art by their standards. It is art to me and it is art to those who care. And that's all that matters.

Brandon, this is a beautiful image. I'm glad you actually put this image up. This is one of your best images. Don't let something that someone else has said to you bring you down. If there's anything that I can say about you, it's that you are a brilliant photographer.
Choosing to take your time with your images is nothing bad at all. It just shows that you were trying to find the perfect one. Sometimes, as with this image, it's hard to pick just one.
I love the fact that you take such time to get a good image. You could very easily become a professional photographer.

I posted 4 shots because each had a unique quality to them.
I'm a little hurt by your comment, Nate. It's like you're saying my photos aren't art, but rather belong on some online photo album that nobody cares about.
These are art pieces of mine. They may not be as impressive as what some other people might be capable of, but I don't care about that. All I care about is giving a piece of myself to DA in the form of these images that I submit. The Blue Comfort images all have an underlying theme of emotion to them, and that includes these.
But why didn't you note me if this is bothering you? Why post it in public? That just makes it even worse.
I'm sorry if these images aren't to your tastes Nate, I guess you can stop watching me if it's a problem for you. But these are art to me. They're not just useless snapshots with no meaning behind them. They mean something. They're meant to inspire emotion.
Or my TPA images...I'm well aware that not everyone is going to give a care at all about some airline I created years ago, but the fact is that I spent years creating little pieces of art relating to that airline, logos, paint schemes, whatever. It's all art. Even web page design is a form of art. And DA is a place to submit that art for everyone else to see, anyone that might be interested.
It sounds like you aren't interested, and I'm sorry. But someone else out there must be. And I'm submitting it for those people that are, that do appreciate it, that can see the value in an image like this. The emotion. The meaning. It's meant to make someone happy.
I apologize if I'm misunderstanding or overreacting...but...I didn't expect to read this. I mean, if you were bothered a note could have worked but at the same time it's like you're saying what I'm putting up isn't art at all.
That hurts. Quite a bit.
But nevertheless I know someone will understand the meaning behind these photos. And at least that's some consolation.
