I've noticed a trend of combining atmospheric planets with space sceneries and merging the two with a great deal of gradiation to where they're trying to make it seem like it is one scene altogether. Although the piece is marvelous (and I even enjoyed the raptor taking its flight), there are a few errors you may look into.
The first being 1) Even thin atmospheric planets such as Triton or Mars cannot so legibly the details of something like a super nova or any other star bodies being seen in the distance.
2) If the planet's atmosphere was too thin to the point where it COULD be seen (like that of Pluto) then the visible light and intensity of everything would be greater, the water systems would be frozen and life could not exist in such an atmosphere.
Although each piece (life on the planet during sunrise/set + spacy view) is beautiful to say the least, to have the two juxtapoised to one another is a paradox; it doesn't happen. Although this merged depiction of the two could be simply a style most artists take, I am unsure what you were trying to achieve here with merging the two things together...
Alas, many kudos for the deviation. Good luck in the future.

First things first, your icon is halarious. Second, love this piece you have made. It looks very nice and smooth and the eagle looks great. Awsome work. ^_^
