Taking sharp notice in her surroundings, especially in others’ feelings, Cheyenne is unconditionally loving to most who she encounters. She loves meeting new faces and getting to know about the personal lives of others, offering to help however she can with their personal trials and tribulations.

Something of a natural leader, Cheyenne already shows promise for being able to take command when needed. It’s not so much that she’s hungry for power or authority over others, but her energy and decisive action is infectious, making her a charismatic and hopeful young leader.

At times, emotions can get the better of Cheyenne and cloud her judgement. She hasn’t yet learned how to keep her feelings in check and when it is best to show them or hide them. Though she is aging into a young adult now, she still acts noticeably childish, getting excited over little things and being rather easy to sway. Only age and experience will make Cheyenne a more mature and capable adult, though her childish streak may never truly fade.

Cheyenne doesn’t have the mental strength and fortitude that will help her not only survive, but thrive in life and this fact is incredibly bothersome to the she-wolf. Cheyenne wants to be the best she can be for her loved ones, for her pack, for herself; failure isn’t tolerated well in her mind’s eye and learning that complete perfection is unattainable should be one of her lessons as she shakes off the last of her youth.

Preconception to birth

Summer 2018 - Spring 2019

The story of Cheyenne begins not with herself, but with her parents and the tumultuous circumstances that tragically tore them away from one another. Cody was a short male wolf while his mate Lakresha was taller than him, beautiful with a sleek body and a defined ruff. Both wolves were just on the cusp of adulthood, raised well by their respective parents and peers, both vehemently against the existence of magic. This sentiment was furthered as both parents bore witness to the attack of Svajone and his men by Malaysia and her followers who dared defy the Alpha. Shocked not only at her disobedience, but at what she was implying, Cody and Lakresha needed no convincing in their decision to join Tundes and the rest of the abhorred members still reeling from what they had just witnessed. Cody mourned during hi first months in Tundes, because his beloved sister had opted to join the Kol at the display. Lakresha comforted him during this time - despite the familial separation, Cody was unrelenting that she didn’t do the right thing and that Tundes had his loyalty. He only hoped that the conflict could be resolved one day. During both the Blood Moon and the Peace Summit, both parents presented their unyielding support to their Alpha, Osiris.

As the brilliant tones of autumn died to the feverish whites of winter, Lakresha would find herself expecting a litter from Cody, and both parents were delighted to be bringing what they hoped would be their first litter. If they could survive through the unknowns of winter, their children should arrive by the spring when resources would be more plentiful and the pack and parents fully equipped to raise them. However, these unknown variables would turn out to be much more gruesome than either prospective parent could have anticipated - the first deaths. Lakresha worried that this may be an omen for her pregnancy, especially as loved ones and packmates began dropping around them. During the winter months, both she and Cody were highly protective over one another and scarcely left the others’ side, fearing they might die at any moment if the other looked away. When Kol arrived to tell the Tundes they were not responsible, Lakresha in particular did not want to believe them, but Cody, still holding out that his sister wouldn’t harm them, opted to believe their message, even if he still had his doubts. The days of their first winter were surrounded with paranoia and a desperate struggle to survive day by day. But finally, the terrible winter was over… and they welcomed their only child into the world: Cheyenne.

Youth

Spring 2019 - Fall 2019

Birth to 6 months

Although Cody and Lakresha had endured great hardship side-by-side, especially in the preparation of their first child, these times would never have the opportunity to become memories far down the line as nostalgia for disaster. A split was beginning to splinter its way through the Tundes, and Cody and Lakresha would both fall victim to the careful split making its way through the political atmosphere of the Tundes. Cheyenne was far too young to realize what was taking place between her parents, particularly because both would keep up appearances around their daughter.

To everyone else, though, it was obvious that Lakresha’s disdain for the Kol and Cody’s desire to fix their relationship was splitting them apart. Cody was offended that Lakresha wasn’t thinking of his relationship with his sister, while Lakresha felt that Cody’s loyalty to the Tundes was questionable and she still believed the Kol were responsible for the mysterious deaths in the winter.

As more bodies sprung up in the summer, word floated that it must be some sort of illness, but Lakresha still believed with her heart that it was some terrible vindictive trick by the Kol. Cody declared her utterly foolish and irrational and their relationship unofficially ended there - even if they both agreed to raise Cheyenne until she could thrive on her own.

In terms of Cheyenne’s puphood, it was mostly unremarkable. She had no siblings and thus her parents were her closest companions for the most part, learning quickly from both of them and seeming to age faster because she became more familiar with their bigger vocabulary and spent more time around them. While she liked to think herself clever, this was absolutely not the case- the puppy could not see what was happening between Cody and Lakresha.

Adolescence

Fall 2019 - Spring 2020

6 months to 1 year

As Cheyenne grew into an adolescent she began to notice the fracture taking place between her parents. As their arguments grew more intense and they started spending time away from each other, Cheyenne realizes she can’t be a mediator and turns away from both of them. They had seemed so close in her puphood, but upon retrospection, she realized it had always been like this, maybe a little less intense. How could they fight like this when the Sickness was prevalent? The young adolescent eagerly encouraged her mother to take the herbs from the Kol when they were offered, and she did albeit with great reluctance, luckily surviving the ailment.

Cody was proud of Cheyenne for managing to convince Lakresha, and the two went on a walk together while Lakresha recovered. Cody finally opened up to his daughter, complaining once they’re alone that he can’t ever seem to convince Lakresha of anything anymore, and that she seems to be blinded by her hate. Cheyenne tries to tell her father not to treat her mother like that, and he finally reveals to his daughter that their union has been over for some time. He didn’t want to tell her until she was a young adult, but it is too obvious now. He doesn’t want her to die, still caring enough about her for at least that, but their mateship is done. Afterward, Cheyenne goes and sulks alone for some time, scared at all the things taking place.

Cheyenne’s fears are worsened as the Hunts begin. She was too young to participate, and spent much of the winter simply being alone and ruminating. With the winter came the strange illness once more. Lakresha was not so lucky this winter. She died a hateful and sad death after eating berries in her hunger that she did not realize were poisonous - strange behaviors like talking to trees and stumbling out of the den in the middle of the night accompanied her slow mental and physical decay. Cheyenne tried to go to Cody, begging him to do something, but he only remorsefully looked on as she finally succumbed to the illness right in front of them, collapsing. She died while staring straight at Cheyenne, a terrifying sight that still haunts the young wolf to this day.

Young Adulthood

Spring 2020 - Fall 2020

1 year to 1.5 years

After this, Cody took over the raising of Cheyenne at this point, and while she wanted to be close to him, he was pursuing an affair with another wolf by now: Suja. Still haunted at the sight of Lakresha’s eyes, Cheyenne is uncomfortable with this arrangement despite Suja’s best efforts trying to get to know her new mate’s daughter. Cheyenne actively avoided both… it seemed to her that a split has occurred between father and daughter, just as it did between him and Lakresha. This comes to a head when Cheyenne sees her mother as part of the visions in the spring, still staring at her, unmoving, unspeaking. The spirit followed her for some time until Cheyenne felt like she was going crazy, especially with the father’s lack of support - he wished that his daughter would move on sooner from her death so he could move on too. Only two months later is Osiris found dead, and the split between the Tundes was more obvious than ever.

Finally, they split. While Cody wanted to stay around and see if cooperation was still plausible so he could finally reunite with his sister, his mateship with Suja was simply a greater priority at the time and she wanted nothing to do with Kol, only to exist peacefully on the island. Cheyenne, while debating honoring her dead mother’s wishes to defy the Kol, simply couldn’t find it in her heart to do so - she has never seen the Kol as an enemy, despite the strange implications of the spirit visit from before. But she does not want to go with her father either, too bothered by his new affair and still feeling like her loyalty to her mother is challenged by Suja’s presence.

She opted, finally, to follow Lennart who formed the Skydas, seeking cooperation. Initially, she only went with them to avoid either connotation of her parents, but soon found herself agreeing with the mission of Skydas. Young though she was, she aspired to help however she can. But now she was all alone, still rather young, no parental support at all and having lacked it for some time. Only her packmates who she hasn’t gotten to know very well. For a while Cheyenne only stuck around familiar faces and by herself, which she was quite used to by now.

The Present

Fall 2020 - Present

1.5 years to 2 years

When the waters of Skydas were mysteriously spoiled, young Cheyenne managed to avoid infection but began to worry how her father was doing. She wondered, then, if she should have stayed with him after all despite her transgressions. She became further uncertain as stone circles are found around dead wolves in the territory, and is eager to meet with him again as Lennart announces a meeting between the fractured packs. She learns, much to her dismay, that her father and his new mate are expecting a litter. Feeling replaced and challenged as her father invites her to come into Taika with them instead, Cheyenne refuses and does not want to see him again after this. He moved on from her, so she should move on from him - the thoughts of an immature youth, but a hurt one.  When Taika was scattered by the catastrophic wave, Cheyenne wondered again about her father and thought, for just a moment, maybe he got what he deserved.

Cheyenne is still a very young wolf, whose thoughts and actions reflect her age and lack of experience - she feels strong compassion for Skydas’s cause and its members, but she still likes her alone time, considering this to be her “safe” space.
