    ◯ For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. When boisterous Aivar barrelled into the world, it seemed only natural that his brother would be his opposite, the balancing weight on the other side of the scales. Nervy and shy at the best of times, Nettle is happy to let others have the spotlight, so that he can blend in with the undergrowth where he feels most at home. He hates being noticed, or singled out, and will go to great lengths to appear unremarkable so as not to attract any attention.

    ◯ An anxious over thinker, Nettle rarely says what is on his mind out of the fear that his words will be misunderstood, or make him sound stupid. That is not to say he’s a liar, but he does have a habit of glossing over the truth, or perhaps adding embellishments that he hopes might make him more well liked among his peers. He has a generally low opinion of himself, and values the wellbeing of all others over his own.

    ◯ Cautious and wary, Nettle often acts as the voice of reason, even if that voice is rarely listened to. He’s quick to warn of the dangers of any proposed activity, which can earn him a reputation as something of a sourpuss. He has no qualms alerting a higher authority if he feels he has been witness to something against the laws or something that could put others in danger. His willpower is not particularly strong, and as a result, he is terrible at keeping secrets. Stronger personalities can often loosen his tongue with threats or promises of reward.

    ◯ While he is slow to make connections of any kind, once he does make a bond, it is very strong. His loyalty to those who have earned it can border on obsession, and he finds it difficult to share their affections with others. With the loss of his parents and Aivar's decision to leave Skydas, Nettle is more clingy than ever, with deep set and unattended abandonment issues below the surface.

    ◯ Skydas is all that Nettle has ever known. He and his brother Aivar were born into what appeared to be a contented family, and his early childhood was one of happiness. While he was always more cautious and shy than his brother, Nettle would follow Aivar anywhere and everywhere, and play any part in his games simply for the joy of being involved.

    ◯ The day that everything changed is largely a blur in Nettle’s mind, and he seems happy to let that be rather than vividly recall the trauma. He’d been resting with Aivar when their father had gotten sick, and their mother had ventured out, her expression of concern swiftly turning to fear when her mate turned his fangs toward her. Nettle remembers that Aivar ran toward them, but Nettle, ever the coward, was frozen to the spot - flinching when his brother was tossed aside. Then all he can remember is running, chasing - father chasing mother, Aivar chasing mother, Nettle chasing Aivar.

    ◯ But they only ever found mother, and while Aivar peered over the edge, Nettle only needed to stop short of the cliff and look at a pool of blood to know what had happened. After that, Lennart himself took the pair into his care, but Nettle will find it difficult to replace what he had lost.
