Description
The initial thought was that the League of Legends champion Nocturne would look badass with a set of Psi Blades from the Zealots in Starcraft but I thought he was much better suited to the green Warp Blades of the perma cloacked Dark Templars, then the name came basically just after that thought making me, for some reason, laugh at the name (however awful it is) which actually motivated me to do it.

There's quite the production story to this one so I might as well describe it in full to not cause any confusion.

First of all, my personal strengths don't really rely on drawing objects from scratch, I can imagine them, I just can't seem to put them onto paper easily and drawing was never exactly my strong point. So in order to proceed I looked at some images relating to the subject, these being Nocturne and Dark Templars.

After finding a few pieces of work that I liked, I then composed them all in Photoshop (I will link to them shortly to show how great a role they played and don't want to make it seem like I'm taking credit for their work), making roughly the image you see above.

The next step was to do my block colour layers mapping out what colours I wanted to use as most people do, just for reference here's a picture:

Wanted to test out the addition of green from the chest and Warp Blades which led to:

Anyway, since as I said before, drawing wasn't my strong point so after adding the basic levels of shading and detail, I used the images I'd previously altered to overlap my shading as texturing.

The images used and doctored for colour purposes etc... are as follows, and this work I attribute full credit to the artists for, so please don't think otherwise, I think their work is absolutely fantastic:

and of course the wonderful Blizzard Entertainment in-game cinematics as well as Riot Games of course.

As you can see it's pretty clear where the different areas came from.

But after these steps were the creation of the Warp Blades, and Chest Effects etc... which were indeed, all done by me.

Think that pretty much wraps up everything!

Once again kudos to Blizzard Entertainment, Riot Games and the aforementioned artists.
