A pretty short straw. Most angels aren't this shitty, but we find out later there's a reason why he's so shitty, and it's not just because he's lazy or bad at his job. It's just an all around crappy situation and he's doing his best to use this "awesome, epic fight" to kinda bolster his record and his status. Even though it's all messed up. The important thing is he did a good job and it's *FINE*.
If he decided to not ignore the sheet metal while being phased through it? UHHH.. he'd be super dead. Our demon might heal but he sure as hell doesn't. Or maybe it'd just kick him out, I think there's...real danger in just anything you're half phased through losing hope in it just like... obliterating you, lol.
