This is quite a touching piece! The composition and expression in the character work really well togheter in creating the atmosphere in this piece. A quick pointer on the background;
- Clouds are rarely that regular. Next time painting them, try to be a little more random with their texture. I find that looking at pictures of clouds (photos that is) helps a lot!
The colour scheme overall works very well. I like the lonely little leaves on the branch as well, they add to the feeling of the piece.

D'aww that's so cute, yet kinda sad. It makes me wanna hug her. The sky looks really serene...and almost soothing. So pretty though, I'd love to see that in my backyard. ^^ Maybe it's just me, but I get the feeling the tree is lonely too, it only has two little leaves. Such a delicate drawing though, I love it. ^^ \

I had to go watch the video after too...it was so cute! I think you captured the meaning really well in your picture. Hehe.

So cute and sad. I reall love the contrast between the sad expression of the bird and the happy background colors. Even though those can be a little melancholy, too, which works perfectly. Great detail on the tree branch, too
