Damn, I don't remember if I've ever commented on these birds you've been painting but I LOOOOOVE how they've been turning out, especially with the wing and feather details! Shading feathered wings has always been stupidly hard for me to figure out, but you seem to have a nice system going here for them. owo

Thank you!! Those birds turned out to be quite the drug :'D Feathers can be tricky! I have days where I'm getting satisfying results right off the bat, and then I have days where I paint one bird over several times, body and wings, 'cause it just won't look right xD

Haha, I know the feeling. xD They must be pretty fun though! Seems like you've been doing quite a few of them. Β

Woah, it's so similar to the reference photo! Just more painterly and awesome, howhowhow?

Thank you!! Incredible what whispering sweet words into the microphone will do for your drawings...

Thank you for sharing your secret senpai! Now I'll whisper my art into Picasso baby~!

If you want your art to look like Picasso's then I don't think whispering sweet words is the key. Probably tell it a horror story

I am baffled how you are able to make such lighting and texture on your birds so realistic. If you don't mind me asking, on average how long do you spend on colouring them? Wonderful work as always, I love his little tucked in feet

Thank you so much! Well... I'm using a texture brush, so most of that is done for me xD; I tried finding it again, but had no luck. If I find it I'll link you :b Pretty sure it's part of a free brush set from someone here on dA, but I've downloaded so many brush sets... I like trying out new brushes, keeping the ones I like and deleting the rest, so it's near impossible to remember where I got which ones from
I don't spend all that long on these. The colouring alone is probably about 20-30 mins :3 Maybe longer if I get carried away and start experimenting. But overall these birds are around speedpaint-level ^^

I'm less cynical towards my work if I speed paint because I don't linger on thinking about it
I've downloaded a few brush sets here too, people are really good at them!

Thank you! :'D For some reason I've had trouble with this particular breed though. I've drawn it 6-7 times and they always come out kinda derpy to me Must be a curse. It's too specific :I

I showed it to my husband and he said: "The head looks a bit off, otherwise great." He has a great eye for spotting mistakes. He is helping me with my own drawings.Β

Funny, the head actually looked off to me too, but I was tired of working on it, so I just left it the way it was xD
