Dynasties and rulers

-----------------------

The peace of January 15, 1715 put an end to the 2nd civil war. It consecrates the division of the kingdom.

Louis Rohan is awarded the title of Prince of Argentina. It is a vassal of Brazil but has total autonomy.
Jean II Le Fur, Prince of the Bay, acquired the same status.

Boundaries are defined.

The Principality of the Bay is entrusted with the Brazilian Amazon, which has never been occupied. The Portuguese established settlers there but never officially to avoid any conflict with its powerful neighbor. The result was a territory that was not very viable but which Jean II would still try to manage.

The principality of Argentina receives the largest territory. But this one has huge empty areas.

If the royal lands are the smallest, they are by far the most populated with 3,347,000 inhabitants. including 2,329,000 whites in 1720.
The Principality of the Bay has 1,118,000 inhabitants including 600,000 whites and Argentina 1,882,000 inhabitants including 662,000 whites.

Besides, Spanish South America has 1,987,000 inhabitants. including 226,000 whites and Portuguese Pernambuco 718,000 inhabitants. including 280,000 whites.

During the five years that followed, Jean Rohan tried to restore royal power. He does not consider the peace of 1715 to be final and plans to reunify the country.
He faces the barons and sometimes his father Conan II. Anglo-Dutch agents act secretly against him with a certain effectiveness.

In 1719 Conan was born, the future Conan III. This heir gives Jean Rohan more weight. But in 1720 he died from a fall from a horse. The barons will once again reimpose their authority and monopolize the kingdom's resources.

For two decades, Brazil experienced a period of division but peace which would prove paradoxically beneficial.
