XD Believe me, he's even more gentle than fluffy ^____^

Once again we returned to same place yesterday, this time we crossed paths with respectively:
1- a dog sled pulled by 10 huskies - Superb sight, 10 dogs galloping on snow pulling a sled. But not friendly at all, when the dogs spotted Hapi they escaped control and rushed on him - the musher (dog driver) had to throw the "anchor" to stop the sled and keep the pack from eating our puppy ><
Hapi on other side, just sat between Dad's legs 15 meters away, and looked at the hysterical dogs struggling, growling and barking, with eyes like "Just WHAT is their problem ?".
2- a Polish Tatra Sheepdog. Wow, these are HUGE. Majestic dog, they look a little like our Great Pyrenees pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirenejs… She was the watchdog in a bar.

Big fluffy dog-bear ^_^

One of my Halo-verse roleplay characters is a Spartan-II who breeds dogs, including Samoyeds. But they're genetically augmented and about two to three times bigger than the standard breed. Extremely smart, too

XD Hapi is kinda augmented Samoyed. Aside from fact he's spayed ^^, another reason why he cannot offer as a stallion is because he's a good inch and half taller, 3 or 4 inches longer, and about 20 lbs. (!) heavier than the maximum allowed for males by the breed's standards.
A few years ago I stumbled on an even bigger Samoyed, during a race, he was waiting with his lady owner while her husband was participating in the race with the rest of their pack - reason he wasn't in was no harness was large enough to fit him, as he was larger than a Alaskan Malamute The lady explained to us she rescued him from a shelter : his former owners abandoned him when they realized he was growing so much bigger than expected, they started to be scared for their children's safety poor fellow. Anyone who bothers to get a nano-bit of info on Samoyeds knows that they're best friends of children. A giant Samoyed is just a giant ball of fluff and love.

^_^ The augmented Samoyeds my Spartans handle are up to three times bigger than the standard, but just as friendly and loving. They help keep the children safe. Not unusual to find a super-Samoyed stretched out with four or five children cuddled into its fur. They and the super-malamutes the Spartans breed and train as their battle companions also dominate sled racing XD

Holy moley!
He's a big fluff poff! He's awesome! XD

Surely he loves all that snow around.
Here snowed only one day, months ago...A pity. I love snow.

Yup, we had some issues trying to get him back in the car at end of trip... he definitely didn't want to leave ^^
In the province where I live there were lots of snow on late February, followed by several dry but cold days at -5Β°C average, so the snow has become very hard and persists on altitudes higher than my town - here we were around 1200m high.

I'm afraid the snow won't last much longer though - today we returned to same place where that pic was taken, still lots of snow (up to mid-calf), but oh, it was WARM - 15Β°C, sun blazing, I did the whole walk with my jacket wrapped around my waist. It was still a wonderful trip

Like a good sled dog. XD
And well, at least you had some snow AND an actual winter. Here, we barely can call winter what we had...
I guess it was cold for a week or two, but honestly, the climate here, it was almost autumn-ish for the whole time.
Now we have sun and all..Flowers are blooming and we can go around in t-shirt already.

We had -15Β° some years ago.
I remember it, cuz me and my sis were in the middle of a sort of snowstorm, with our dog as puppy.
We gave up about the walk we were doing, cuz it was too cold for us to bear. Dog was happy about it, though.

That and he made friends there. We settled on a bar's terrace to chill after the walk, and Hapi made friends with the barkeeper's German shepherd (biggest and strongest one I've ever seen O.O magnificent dog !) They played together on the terrace, although Dad didn't dare unleash Hapi, to keep the two tornadoes local - if he had let him loose, they would have sent all the tables and chairs to the ground in the game's frenzy
Right after that, the bar's cat came out and directly trotted to Hapi and sniffed him nose to nose OO I had no idea a cat could be so friendly to stranger dogs...

Yeah, east France is one of last places in France where you can get actual winter. Aside of Alps, of course.
Still, it came pretty late this year. We had the luxury of a "White Christmas" in December but after that, January and 1st half of February were like summer - I swear I saw cherry trees starting to blossom around mid-February !
The entirety of snow you see there fell in 36 hours around February's 3rd week (of course the blossoming trees didn't like it at all >.<). Right after that we had period of real cold and cloudy-but-dry weather that helped snow layer stay in place.
It has been melting fast these last days due to soft weather and sun, but last weekend it was like, 80cms/1m high ^___^

Woah. Means Hapi is friendly as fudge. XD
My dog is became rather a wiener, with male dogs. (And with some people too, apparently. O_o )
Lol. I met a similar cat, months ago. While I was walking around with my dog.
It was popped out from a gate..First he fluff all his fur and it arched his back, then it came close to my dog and they startedto sniff each others muzzles. XD
Probably cuz my dog was used to live with a cat, so henever reacts when he sees them.

And that sounds cool. DX
Here it's tecnically still winter, yet today it seems spring. It's hot and flowers and stuff are blooming like hell.
I'd love to have around 1m of snow, sometime...DX

XD Yes, he is very friendly. He always agrees to play, be it with dogs or humans, and he is always happy to give back nuzzles and licks when a human comes cuddle him.
He is very sociable dog, and all that friendliness and sociability hides fact that he is actually... a very dominant dog. I cannot explain otherwise the fact that he manages to get each and every dog he meets into doing his bidding.
It's not just the calm/submissive dogs. I have seen him "taming" a very aggressive dog simply by standing in front of him, and directly putting his nose against the dog's nose while wagging tail - though no whining, he remained perfectly silent. From aggressive and growling, the dog went to quiet, then started whining and wagging tail, and finally agreed to play.

We weren't the only ones stunned - dog's owner was also like O.O
We called that "Imposizione del Naso". he still does it from time to time and it still works.
Hapi is a Lord. It's just that he uses his Lord Power to play and make friends, not to fight and dominate

It also helped that Gemo (the German Shepherd) was a rescue dog, and submissive kind. That way everything went fine, with everyone knowing his place - even though Gemo is so much bigger and stronger that he unwillingly sent Hapi "ippon" during the play ^^

It's March 22th, and we returned to where we were that day, this time with snowshoes to avoid sinking in snow.
I took a pic of a fire hydrant that was near the hotel where we parked the car. I hope there is no fire before the snow melts, because firefighters would have a hard time using it - it is almost completely covered in snow, with just the top lid being visible, and the hose connector is currently out of reach ^^

Cool. I never headr about that. XD
Hapi is a secure dog, means..
I believe my dog it's actually insecure. That's why sometimes he's a butt.
Yet, after the aggression of that german shepperd, he started to dislike male dogs. At least the good 70% of them.

Cool....Hereit's kinda hot, instead..DX

Yup, we are lucky to live in low-mountain environment, with mile-high places available all around
We returned to the same place today, and it was pretty much the same - still lots of snow - but the weather was so soft and sun blazing (I did the whole walk with jacket around waist). It was a lovely trip once again, but I'm afraid it was the last one in snow - with several sunny days coming, it'll probably melt fast, even at mile-high heights :/
